1. Who We Are

SMAKO™ is a taste personality test operated by Signal Collective. Our website is smakotest.com. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at hello@smakotest.com.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Email address — collected when you submit the waitlist form after completing the quiz, or sign up for the app waitlist. Voluntary. The quiz works without providing an email.
• SMAKO™ type code — your 6-letter taste personality result (e.g., BLVSTA), stored alongside your email when you submit the waitlist form so we can send you type-personalised communications.
• Source — where you came from when you joined (e.g., quiz result page, app waitlist section). Used to understand which parts of the product drive sign-ups.
• Quiz answers — your responses to the 30 quiz questions are processed locally in your browser to calculate your type. They are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

• Sending you your SMAKO™ type result and type breakdown by email.
• Notifying you when the SMAKO™ mobile app launches.
• Understanding which taste types are most common among our users to improve the product.

We do not use your data for advertising profiling, automated decision-making, or any purpose beyond what is listed above.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your email and type data are stored in Supabase, a secure database service with servers located in the United States and European Union. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, strictly for operating the service:

• Supabase — database storage for email and type data.
• Resend — email delivery service used to send your type result and waitlist communications.

Both providers are bound by data processing agreements and may not use your data for their own purposes.

6. Cookies and Tracking

smakotest.com uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to track anonymous usage data including pages visited, time on site, and approximate geographic location (derived from your IP address, which is anonymized by Google).

We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or selling data. We do not use Meta Pixel or any advertising tracker.

Your choice: When you first visit smakotest.com, you are asked to accept or decline analytics cookies. If you decline, no tracking cookies are set and Google Analytics does not load. Your quiz results and profile are not affected by your cookie choice.

You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser localStorage for smakotest.com (this resets the consent banner).

7. Email Communications

By submitting your email through the quiz result form or app waitlist, you opt in to receive emails from SMAKO™. These include your type result, a follow-up breakdown, and an app launch announcement. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your data at any time.
• Withdraw consent to email communications at any time via the unsubscribe link.

9. Children's Privacy

SMAKO™ is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, contact us at hello@smakotest.com and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated to waitlist members by email. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated.
